Programming
As part of an ongoing commitment to civic engagement, I organized this event with support from Regional Arts Commission to create dialogue on the role the arts and creative thinking play in civic participation and visioning at the city, regional, and national levels.
The event included:
- Mayoral debate moderated by St. Louis Public Radio (with segments presented on-air)
- Performances by Anita Jackson and Pacia Anderson
- Panel discussion with Kelly McGowan (founder of civic organization Transform 314), Kyna Iman (Lobbyist for Missouri Citizens for the Art), and Randy Cohen (Vice President of Research for Americans for the Arts), moderated by Professor Kathryn Bentley (Southern Illinois University Edwardsville)
- League of Women Voters and ACLU community tables, offering information about ballot initiatives and the opportunity to register to vote.
- A comment and creative response wall
